Enriched Air diver

Have you ever heard of nitrox or enriched air? Ever wondered what that was all about? Perhaps you find it annoying that your dives are limited by short no decompression time. Wouldn't it be nice to extend your bottom time safely?

In essence, nitrox is any breathing gas where the percentage of oxygen has been altered in the gas mix. With elevated oxygen, you can reduce the amount of nitrogen that is absorbed in your body during a dive (compared to plain compressed air). This can give you more no decompression dive time during your dive and it can accelerate the off-gassing of nitrogen during your safety stops.
