Campbell River is one of the top cold-water diving destinations in the world. The strong tidal currents that flow through Discovery Passage support an astonishing array of marine life. The steep walls of the channel are blanketed by a colourful collection of invertebrates - anemone's, sponges and soft corals - and provide homes for many varieties of fish - from the tiny, pugnacious grunt sculpin to Cap'n Crunch, an eight foot long wolfeel, (Anarrhychthys ocellatus), who has been a favourite of divers for more than fifteen years.
