Tahsis Shark Dive - July 2001
For some time we've been hearing stories about the 6-gill sharks that divers are seeing at Tahsis, so we finally went there to see for ourselves.
The stories are true and Kevin got some photos to prove it!!!
It was an easy shore entry off the boat launch to a sloping silt bottom. Visibility was limited to about 20 feet, and at first there wasn't a lot to see. Then ... from out of the darkness ... loomed an ominous form ...
Kevin and Steve were at about 100 feet when they saw this 6 gill. Kevin estimates that it was nearly 12 feet long.

The rest of us may have missed the sharks this time, but we can't wait to get back to Tahsis to try again.
